Here at Noble & Cooley, we have never really done much marketing. We did a few advertisements back in the early days and had a few professionals who worked with us because they loved the brand but, for the most part, we have just made quality drums and people found us through word of mouth. This has resulted in an interesting phenomenon that, while we are largely under the radar, many of the top professional players own our gear, as do several world class studios and production facilities.  Additionally, many session and touring drummers who have contractual agreements with other manufacturers have purchased drums from us to use in the studio while making the recordings that will be preserved forever. This means that in many cases, players who have unlimited access to gear came to us when it came time to record their songs.  So, when you watch the video, you are seeing another brand but what you are hearing is Noble & Cooley.

We have never catalogued the recordings made with our drums but do know of some. We thought it would be fun to put this list together and share with everyone.  Some information we cannot put out there for confidentiality reasons and we clearly are only capturing a fraction of what has been done, but the list covers a broad range of music styles and some of the top performers and top selling albums in history. We have done our best to chronicle which drums were used so that you can hear what it sounds like in a particular context. This can help in choosing which sound you like best.  We hope you have fun checking out the different tones on the various recordings.

BTW – This is clearly the very beginning of a Work In Progress. If anyone out there - bands, session players, studios, producers, engineers, etc. knows of recordings we are missing,  please let us know and we will add them to the list.
