Dino English
Dino English has been involved in playing music since the age of ten. After pleading with his parents to take drum lessons they offered to pay for guitar lessons instead (less noise being the issue). At the age of fifteen, Dino finally won out and purchased his first drum kit. Knowing he had catching up to do from his later than usual start, he practiced diligently gaining experience everywhere he could find including the Parkway North High jazz, marching, and concert bands. Dino went on to receive a percussion scholarship to Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri; after graduating with Bachelors of Science degree, he played with numerous original musical acts in the greater St. Louis, MO area, including Carpie Diem, The Icons, East Ash; he also co-founded the band, Vitamin A.
When not participating with original acts, Dino picked up gigs with local Grateful Dead cover bands for fun, more playing experience, and to further explore the art of double drumming with Rob Koritz, his partner in drums. This fun pastime turned into a full-blown career when Dark Star Orchestra picked up this drumming duo to help recreate actual Grateful Dead shows.
Besides extensively touring the US with Dark Star Orchestra, Dino plays music with The Medicine Show Revival, and The Icons. He is also producing several recording projects. A new Medicine Show Revival CD is in production, as well one on which he samples and edits small pieces of live material which is then arranged to make new music.
